Bellhousing

You will find all of the modifications to the bellhousing here!
The bellhousing is a Lakewood Bellhousing. The housing needs some modifications that the manual does not depict. These modifications must be done to so the housing doesn't have ground clearance problems. Click any image for a larger view.

Clutch Fork Opening
The opening has been modified with a half inch cut towards the engine. My bell has also been stripped of paint and repainted with Krylon chrome paint.
Cutting the Lip.
The manual doesn't tell you of the lower lip modification. This lip must be trimmed like my picture indicates. This will allow for ground clearance so it won't hang lower than the 4 inch frame crossmember. I used a machine shop band saw. This saw is hydralic and made cutting very easy. It might take you a while with a cut off tool.
Pivot ball installed
This image shows the pivot ball installed. I used the spacer plate as a guide for placement. You should adjust the pivot so the throwout bearing touched the clutch fingers flat. After you adjust the pivot, you need to saw off the excess. I notched it for a screwdriver. You can also see the pilot bearing installed.
